Inner Beauty Desk

Welcome to inner beauty. On this page we welcome your views & opinions as we capture true beauty, true worth & true identity through the original manufacturer’s manual – You see ladies, we have no idea that we are the finest, bought at the highest price, loved and cherished by the King of all kings! If we did, we would quit trying so hard to be everything that the world & culture expects us to be and we would live as God-made, gifted women, that He created us to be. Sad to say the society we live in is enthralled with the idea of beauty and eternal youth. But what is true beauty?

I read a story once about a cosmetic company that made an important discovery . They asked people in one large city to send pictures along with a brief letter about the most beautiful woman they knew. Within a few weeks, thousands of letters were delivered to the company.

One letter in particular caught the attention of the employees, and soon it was handed to the CEO.

The letter read, “There is a beautiful woman who lives down the street from me. I visit her every day. She makes me feel like the most important kid in the world. We play draught and she listens to my problems. She understands me and when I leave she always says she’s proud of me.”

The boy ended his letter saying, “This picture shows you that she is the most beautiful woman. I hope I have a wife as pretty as her.”

Intrigued by the letter, the CEO asked to see this woman’s picture. His secretary handed him a photograph of a smiling, toothless old woman, sitting in a wheelchair with grey hair pulled back in a bun. Wrinkles that formed deep furrows on her face were somehow diminished by the twinkle in her eyes. “We can’t use this woman,” explained the CEO smiling. “She would show the world that our products aren’t necessary to be beautiful.” The CEO had discovered a valuable truth. Beauty – true beauty is on the inside and works its way out. No matter how beautiful a person may be on the outside, an ugly soul will always show through.

Now, I’m not one to believe in letting my appearance go because when I think of all the intricacies God put into making us, it is truly amazing. But more than a body, He also created us with a soul and a spirit. And all through our lives, God is at work to complete the masterpiece of you and me through our minds, wills, and emotions. You, dear friend, are a piece of art created both inside and outside by God Himself. King David described it this way:

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13-16).

A woman was and is one of God’s most magnificent creations. In fact, she was His grand finale. After He fashioned Eve, creation was complete and He took a rest! Let’s go back to the beginning of time and reflect on our magnificent beginnings.

After God created the sun, moon, stars, earth, waters, creeping and flying animals, he created man. But something was missing. For Adam there was no creature suitable for him. This is the only time God said any aspect of His creation was “not good.” He said, “It is not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18).

So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. And the LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. And the man said, “This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” (Genesis 2:21-24 NASB)

While God created the world and all it contains, He did something a little special when He made woman. One translation says “He fashioned” Eve. He didn’t simply make you — He fashioned you with extra special care and meticulous detail. The magazines can say one thing, your mind may say another but dig deep inside you and you will find you are a thing of beauty, a sight to behold, and one of His most spectacular masterpieces – a work of art, a valuable original, a one of a kind.
